In January of 1933, the Nazi Party rose to power in Germany. In attempts to "purify society", the Nazis targeted those who they believed were inferior to the Aryan race including Jews, Gypsies, Asians, Poles, and Africans. Innocent human beings were viciously tortured in concentration and death camps. The Nazis murdered over six million Jews, fulfilling Hitler's desire to cleanse the Aryan race.
